La Colle-sur-Loup is a small village in the Alpes-Maritimes department, located between Nice and Grasse. Our visit there provided a quiet, authentic experience of the French Riviera, away from the more tourist-heavy coastal towns. The village has a long history, dating back to medieval times. Its name comes from the Occitan word for hill, reflecting its position on a gentle slope. Historically, La Colle-sur-Loup was an important stop for traders and travelers moving between the coast and the inland regions. The old stone buildings and narrow streets still reflect this past, while the church of Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur serves as a reminder of the village’s religious and communal life over the centuries.Today, La Colle-sur-Loup is known for its relaxed atmosphere and local markets. The weekly market offers fresh produce, regional products, and handmade goods, giving visitors a taste of Provençal life. The surrounding area is characterized by olive groves and vineyards, with easy access to nearby villages like Saint-Paul-de-Vence and Vence, both known for their artistic communities and historic sites
