Santo Stefano al Mare is a charming seaside village in Liguria, nestled along the Riviera di Ponente between Sanremo and Imperia. Our recent visit, traveling with our camper van, allowed us to experience the beauty and tranquility of this coastal town from a unique perspective. We stayed at the excellent parking area near D-Marin Aregai Marina, a convenient and well-equipped spot that provided easy access to both the marina and the town center. The location was ideal, offering stunning views of the Mediterranean and allowing us to explore the area at our own pace. Santo Stefano al Mare has a rich history, with origins dating back to Roman times. The village’s name is linked to its ancient church, dedicated to Saint Stephen, which still stands as a focal point of the community. Over the centuries, Santo Stefano al Mare has evolved from a small fishing village into a popular destination, known for its colorful houses, sandy beaches, and lively promenade. Today, the town is celebrated for its relaxed atmosphere and authentic Ligurian charm. The seafront is lined with restaurants serving fresh seafood and local specialties, while the weekly market offers a variety of regional products. The surrounding hills, covered in olive groves and vineyards, provide scenic hiking trails and breathtaking views of the coast. Our time in Santo Stefano al Mare was a perfect blend of relaxation and discovery. The convenience of staying near D-Marin Aregai Marina, combined with the town’s welcoming atmosphere and natural beauty, made our visit truly memorable. It is an ideal destination for travelers seeking a genuine taste of Ligurian coastal life.
