Castellar de n’Hug is a small mountain village located in the province of Barcelona, high in the eastern Pyrenees. The village is known for its stone houses, mountain scenery, and for being close to the source of the Llobregat River. We drove to Castellar de n’Hug during winter, and by the time we arrived it had started snowing. The road leading to the village is quite narrow and steep in several sections, which can make access difficult for larger motorhomes. Drivers should be prepared for careful driving, especially in winter conditions. When we reached the village, it was very crowded with visitors. Despite the busy atmosphere, the dedicated motorhome stopover area was a pleasant surprise. The area is spacious and well organized, making it a good place to park even for larger camper vehicles. The village itself sits on a hillside with views of the surrounding mountains. Castellar de n’Hug is also well known in Catalonia for traditional mountain food and for its historic appearance, with narrow streets and old stone buildings that have been preserved over time. Our stop in Castellar de n’Hug was a winter visit with falling snow and a busy village atmosphere. The access road can be challenging for motorhomes, but the large and well-designed motorhome area makes it a practical place to stop while exploring this part of the Pyrenees.
