Grevenmacher was one of those places where we checked more than one possibility before deciding whether it was suitable for us. One of the parking areas we tried was directly along the road, in a very attractive position with a lovely view. For a short break it seemed perfectly fine, but we would not have chosen it for a longer stay. At least during the daytime the nearby road was busy enough to make the parking noticeably noisy, so for us the view was the main positive point rather than the tranquillity. We also checked the parking at Moselweg. The location itself was fine, but the parking area was quite small and again rather noisy. More importantly, the signs there were in French and, from the way we understood them during our visit, it appeared that motorhomes were permitted only from Monday to Saturday and only between 6 AM and 6 PM. We were not certain whether that restriction also applied to motorhomes weighing less than 3.5 tonnes, so rather than pretending that the rule was clearer than it actually seemed to us, we treated it cautiously. Grevenmacher therefore did not become one of our favourite places to stop with the motorhome. Both locations had advantages and the setting was pleasant, particularly the view from the roadside parking, but noise and uncertainty about the restrictions meant that for us they worked better as places for a short stop than somewhere we would deliberately choose for a longer stay.
