Montpellier, located in southern France, is a vibrant city with a rich history dating back over a thousand years. Founded in the 10th century, it quickly became an important center for trade, culture, and learning. The city’s medieval streets, grand squares, and historic buildings—like the Faculty of Medicine, one of the oldest in the world—tell the story of its past as a hub of knowledge and innovation.

Over the centuries, Montpellier flourished under the influence of various rulers and became known for its progressive spirit. Today, it is celebrated for its dynamic blend of history, modern architecture, and lively student population.

Our Visit: Aquarium and Zoo Adventures During our time in Montpellier, we explored the city’s natural wonders at the Aquarium Mare Nostrum and the Zoo de Lunaret. The aquarium offered a fascinating glimpse into Mediterranean marine life, while the zoo provided an opportunity to see a diverse range of animals in a beautifully maintained park.
