Sant Pere de Riudebitlles is a small town in the province of Barcelona, located in the wine-producing region of Penedès. The town is traditionally known for paper production and sits in a valley surrounded by hills and vineyards. During our motorhome journey through this area, we decided to stay overnight in the local motorhome stopover. Unfortunately, the area did not leave a very positive impression. The stopover felt quite neglected, with little maintenance and limited facilities. The location was also rather isolated and dark during the evening, which made it feel less comfortable compared to other motorhome areas we had used during the trip. Another challenge was the access road to the stopover. The approach is steep and quite bumpy, which made the entry difficult for our 23-foot-long motorhome.
Because of these conditions, the stop worked mainly as a basic overnight parking place rather than a comfortable stop for a longer stay. Travelers with larger motorhomes may want to be cautious when approaching the area due to the steep and uneven access.
Our night in Sant Pere de Riudebitlles was therefore more of a practical stop while continuing our route through Catalonia. While the town itself may have interesting local traditions and history, the motorhome stopover could benefit from better maintenance and easier access for larger vehicles.
